Oregon State University

Kathleen Bogart is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Oregon State University. She is a social/health psychologist specializing in disability, ableism, and rare disorders such as facial paralysis. Passionate about disability community-building, she is the co-founder of the Disability Advocacy and Research Network (DARN) for psychologists who have and/or specialize in disability.

Luz Maria Garcini

Rice University

Luz Garcini is the Interim Director of Community and Public Health at the Kinder Institute of Urban Research and an assistant professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Rice University. Dr. Garcini is also a faculty scholar at the Baker Institute for Public Policy at Rice. Her research focuses on community engaged science to inform the health needs of historically marginalized communities.

Dr. Patricia Rodriguez Espinosa, PhD., MPH, is a clinical psychologist by training. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Population Health and the Associate Director of Research for the Office of Community Engagement at Stanford Medicine. The ultimate goal of her research is to decrease health inequities among racial/ethnic minority populations, particularly Latinxs and immigrant communities, through transdisciplinary and community-engaged scholarship.

Yolanda Suarez-Balcazar

University of Illinois, Chicago

Dr. Suarez-Balcazar is a Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy, and Affiliate Faculty in the Department of Disability and Human Development, University of Illinois Chicago. Trained as a community psychologist her research focuses on the study of social determinants of health impacting diverse families of children with disabilities and designing culturally tailored health promotion interventions in collaboration with the community.
