APS Past President Michael Gazzaniga, University of California, Santa Barbara, is one of the world’s leading neuroscientists. He received a PhD in psychobiology from the California Institute of Technology and is a pioneer in the study of how the brain enables the mind. Gazzaniga's books include Mind Matters, Nature’s Mind, The Cognitive Neurosciences, and most recently The Ethical Brain. He has maintained a distinguished teaching career and is a member of the President’s Council on Bioethics. Gazzaniga was interviewed by his good friend Leo Chalupa, University of California, Davis.
