10th International Conference on Bipolar Disorders
The 10th International Conference on Bipolar Disorders to be held 13-16 June, 2013, is accepting proposals for presentations at the conference. For the first time in the history of the conference, the meeting will not be held in Pittsburgh, but in Miami Beach, Florida, and now under the auspices of the International Society for Bipolar Disorders (ISBD). Clinicians, researchers, patients, family members, and mental health advocates from around the world will again come together for this four-day conference to share their clinical expertise, research findings, and personal experiences with the goal of improving the quality of life for those living with bipolar disorder.

RAND Summer Institute (RSI)
RAND is pleased to announce the 20th annual RAND Summer Institute (RSI). RSI consists of two annual conferences that address critical issues facing our aging population. The will be held on July 8–9, and the Demography, Economics, Psychology, and Epidemiology of Aging conference on July 10–11, 2013. Both conferences will convene at the RAND Corporation headquarters in Santa Monica, California. The application and supplemental materials are due by March 22, 2013. The conferences are sponsored by the National Institute on Aging and the NIH Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research.

This grant, issued by NIH’s National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS), supports research to test assumptions and hypotheses on social and behavioral factors that might aid potential interventions in increasing the number of students who are interested, motivated, and prepared to pursue biomedical and behavioral research careers.
