SSHD is an international society based in the US. Ours is a multidisciplinary organization. The central mission of SSHD is to provide a forum that moves beyond age-segmented scholarly organizations to take an integrative, interdisciplinary approach to theories of, research on, and applications of Developmental Science across the life-span/life course.

Benchmark Project: Expert Online Survey Announcement
Expert members are invited to participate in an expert crowd-sourcing survey that seeks to establish benchmarks in working memory research. The Benchmark Project is led by Klaus Oberauer (University of Zurich, Switzerland) and Stephan Lewandowsky (University of Bristol) and seeks to identify theory-relevant benchmarks in working-memory research. To date, more than 27,000 articles have been published on short-term and working memory. The plethora of publications not only provides a huge knowledge based, but it also presents an obstacle to principled identification of the core phenomena that are essential for theorizing.

OPRE Grant Announcement: Family Strengthening Scholars
The Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation (OPRE) in the Administration for Children and Families, US Department of Health and Human Services has recently published a discretionary research funding announcement. OPRE intends to award up to three grants to support dissertation research on healthy marriage/responsible fatherhood policy issues (HMRF).

Call for Nominations: Psychonomic Society Early Career Award
The Psychonomic Society Early Career Award was established as an annual award to honor the distinguished research accomplishments of our early career members and fellows. Each year, up to four awardees will be named. One nominee, whose research is closest to the areas of perception and attention, will receive the Steven Yantis Early Career Award. They will be recognized at the annual meeting and will receive both a glass and a cash award ($2,500). In addition, the awardees’ airfare to the meeting will be paid. The 2015 Annual Meeting will be held in Chicago, Illinois on November 19-22. Nominations are now being solicited for 2015. Please click here to submit your nomination.
