First Meeting of the Society for the Advancement of Judgment and Decision Making Studies
Registration is now open for the First Meeting of the Society for the Advancement of Judgment and Decision Making Studies (SEJyD), taking place on July 12–13, 2016. The program features plenary lectures by Martin Skov, Konstantinos Katsikopoulos, Wandi Bruine de Bruin, and Todd Hare, one workshop, one panel discussion, six spoken paper sessions, and two poster sessions. The breadth of topics in the conference intends to reflect the breadth of contemporary judgment and decision-making studies. These have addressed issues in the domains of aesthetics, morals, sport, consumer behavior, and the neural foundations of judgment and decision-making.

2016 Singapore Conference on Applied Psychology
The 2016 Singapore Conference on Applied Psychology (SCAP 2016), organized by East Asia Research and supported by the Association of Psychotherapists and Counselors (Singapore), Hong Kong Shue Yan University, and Singapore University of Technology and Design, will be held Singapore from June 14–15, 2016. Researchers and practitioners from all fields of psychology research and practice will present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, concerns, and practical challenges encountered and the solutions adopted in the field of applied psychology.

UAB Nutrition Obesity Research Center Offers 5-Day Summer Courses
UAB's Nutrition Obesity Research Center will be holding two 5-day short courses at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. June: The Mathematical Sciences in Obesity Research The mathematical sciences including engineering, statistics, computer science, physics, econometrics, psychometrics, epidemiology, and mathematics qua mathematics are increasingly being applied to advance our understanding of the causes, consequences, and alleviation of obesity. These applications do not merely involve routine well-established approaches easily implemented in widely available commercial software.

6th International Self-Determination Theory Conference
The 6th International Self-Determination Theory (SDT) Conference will take place from June 2–5, 2016, in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, with poster submissions being accepted until February 1. Thefirst day (June 2) will start with a welcoming ceremony and Recognition of Presence on Coast Salish Territory, followed by presentations by SDT leaders on the most recent theoretical developments in self-determination theory, cumulating with a talk by the SDT founders and APS Fellows Edward Deci and Richard Ryan. A welcome reception will follow.

University of Missouri Launching Alcohol Research Internship Program
The University of Missouri’s (MU) Department of Psychological Science is recruiting its first class of undergraduate students for its federally funded Alcohol Research Training Summer School & Internship (MU–ARTSS) program. MU–ARTSS aims to increase the pipeline of scientists among minority and nonminority undergraduates who are interested in pursuing careers in alcohol research. Students participating in the MU–ARTSS program are part of the larger MU Summer Undergraduate Research Program (MU–SURP), which is hosting approximately 100 students from universities and colleges across the United States every year.
