AMPPS Converting to Open Access in 2021
APS, with the support of our publishing partner, SAGE, is pleased to announce that our newest journal, Advances in Methods and Practices in Psychological Science (AMPPS), will become an open access (OA) journal in 2021.
Beginning January 1, 2021, all AMPPS content, including articles which were previously published, will be made publicly available. Manuscripts originally submitted on November 1, 2020, or later and subsequently accepted will be subject to an Article Processing Charge (APC) and will be published OA under a Creative Commons license.
APS is sensitive to the fact that not all authors or institutions are able to pay the APC, therefore APS is heavily subsidizing publication costs so that the charge to authors will be set at $1,000 for 2021. Additional assistance will be available to authors from low-income countries, and need-based assistance will be available to authors regardless of their location; no author will be prevented from publishing their accepted manuscript due to lack of funds.
More information can be found in the AMPPS Open Access FAQ, in APS President Shinobu Kitayama’s September Observer column, and in the column’s accompanying virtual roundtable discussion.
