ERC Starting Grant Program Now Accepting Proposals

Early-career researchers in Europe seeking funding should apply by October 25, 2022

Early career scientists affiliated with an EU institution who are looking to work independently and lead a new research effort should consider applying for the European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant program. These grants support scientific research from any field, including psychological science, and are available to researchers with 2-7 years of experience since the completion of their PhD.

ERC Starting Grants are available to applicants who propose to associate with a host institution that is located in an EU Member State or one of the associated countries (PDF link). Those with a promising scientific track record and an excellent research proposal are encouraged to apply. Proposals will be evaluated by international peer reviewers who consider the research project and the principal investigator together.

Grants provide up to €1.5 million for a period of 5 years; the deadline for applications is October 25, 2022. Interested early-career scientists should submit their application via the EU Submission service.

Please visit the Starting Grant page on the European Research Council website for more information, including details of the submission and review process.
