APS Announces Annual Giving

In August, the American Psychological Society turned 15. From the start, APS has been a strong, effective voice for scientific psychologists. APS continues to provide leadership in how the world understands psychological science, and how psychological science shapes the understanding of our world, through our journals, our convention, and our advocacy. To meet the challenges in those areas, the APS Board of Directors is seeking your support through the APS Campaign for Advancing Psychological Science, or CAPS.

APS President Henry L. Roediger, III has kicked off CAPS in his Presidential Column.

“The Board of APS does not want to raise dues drastically,” Roediger said, “so we are hoping to make further strides in advancing psychological science by appealing to those of you who are in a position to make donations to support psychological science through CAPS.”

Your participation in CAPS will strengthen core APS activities and allow the Society to continue to enhance the public’s understanding of behavioral science, ensure that therapies and interventions are empirically supported, encourage the use of psychological science in new contexts and venues, and undertake initiatives to make sure vigorous and rigorous research continues.

In the coming weeks, you will receive more information on the APS Campaign for Advancing Psychological Science. For more information or to make a donation, call (202) 783-2077 or go online to www.psychologicalscience.org/fund.
