APS James S. Jackson Lifetime Achievement Award for Transformative Scholarship Nominations
Deadline for the 2026 Awards: October 1, 2024
To nominate a candidate for the APS James S. Jackson Award, the following materials are required:
- An electronic letter of nomination that briefly describes (1-2 pages) the major empirical or theoretical contribution the candidate has made to research on historically disadvantaged racial/ethnic groups and/or understanding of the psychological and societal benefits of racial/ethnic diversity, equity, and inclusion. Marks of formal recognition are useful in this context. Nominators may outline evidence for the candidate’s impact by noting citations of the work, identifying areas of research that have developed or changed as a consequence of the candidate’s contribution. The letter should identify major career landmarks. An attached list may cite no more than 10 major publications.
- Two additional 1-2-page electronic letters of support from colleagues familiar with the candidate’s work. (Three total letters must be submitted: one letter of nomination and two letters of support.) Please do not submit more than two letters of support.
- Complete electronic curriculum vitae of the candidate. (PDF preferred)
Please consider the diverse and international nature of our field in nominating colleagues. Nominations of members of underrepresented groups in psychological science are encouraged.
