Instructions for Submitting a Proposal
While most of the journal’s papers are invited, Current Directions does entertain proposals. However, please note that given the restricted page limits of the journal, few unsolicited proposals are approved (typically around 10%).
The proposal should be no more than three pages, including a list of probable references for the paper. Proposals should be submitted via SAGE Track under the manuscript type Unsolicited Proposal. Also include the names of 4 to 5 possible reviewers without a conflict of interest and their email addresses. Conflicts of interest include former mentors and teachers, current colleagues, and collaborators. Authors often are familiar with experts in their area of research, and editors appreciate the suggestions. Keep in mind that editors will consider these requests but cannot guarantee that they will be honored.
Invited contributors and authors of accepted proposals can find instructions for preparing their manuscripts here.
