The APS Global Psychological Science Summit, which is a virtual event, will be held annually, likely in October of each year, starting in 2024. 

The Call for Submissions is APS’s on-line portal for submitting research to be presented at the APS Global Psychological Science Summit. Submission types include posters and roundtables. All submissions will be presented virtually.

No, APS only accepts submissions via the online Call for Submissions. 

APS Membership is not required to submit, present, and author a submission or attend the APS Global Psychological Science Summit. However, being a member of APS offers you a significant discount on registration and directly benefits you and your career. To become a member and take advantage of membership benefits please visit our Membership page.

Posters are scheduled within 50-minute poster sessions and will be available on-demand during the Global Summit. We ask that you are available during your session time so that other Global Summit attendees can use the chat function to ask questions, etc. If your poster proposal is accepted, further instructions regarding virtual presentation proceedings will be provided.  

Roundtable session presenters should plan for a short presentation accompanied by slides (5-7 minutes), followed by a discussion with attendees. The entire session will be scheduled for 50 minutes.

Submissions for the 2024 APS Annual Convention will not automatically be reviewed for the APS Global Psychological Science Summit  If your poster was accepted but you could not attend the May 2024 convention, e.g., because of an emergency or visa issues, you will need to resubmit if you want to present your poster at the APS Global Psychological Science Summit.

Yes, there will be a separate call for submissions and separate review process for each event. 

If you present at an in-person APS Annual Convention, you may re-submit that research to the APS Global Psychological Science Summit in the same year.

Please note that APS strongly encourages online payment for registration via credit card or ACH. However, we recognize that in some cases you may need to pay via check or wire transfer, which are also accepted. Registration payments must be received in advance of the Summit.  Please see the registration page for further registration details and instructions.

All speakers, participants, poster and roundtable presenters at the APS Global Psychological Science Summit must pay a registration fee – which is discounted for APS Members. You do not have to register to have your submission accepted. You may register once you receive notification and still be eligible for the early-bird registration rates if you register before Monday, September 16th, 2024. 

Please note that the APS Global Psychological Science Summit is a fully virtual summit, and you will need to register to present your research. 

APS is pleased to offer financial assistance programs to defray costs for APS Members and Student Affiliates at the APS Global Psychological Science Summit. 

Participation Assistance – The Participation Assistance Program defrays costs for APS Members attending the APS Global Psychological Science Summit. Learn more and apply by August 19.

The APS Global Psychological Science Summit formally kicks off with the Plenary Session: Toward a Global Psychological Science on the morning of Wednesday, October 23, 2024, followed by Poster Viewing Sessions and Roundtable Sessions throughout the day. The day ends with the Plenary Session: Challenges in Global Psychological Science.  

The APS program continues Thursday, with Workshops, Poster Viewing Sessions, and Roundtable Sessions occurring throughout the day. Finally, our APS Global Psychological Science Summit ends with the Closing Plenary Session: Future of Global Psychological Science.

APS Global Psychological Science Summit attendees will have opportunities to engage with each other in live chats during invited sessions, during the viewing of posters, and in submitted roundtable sessions. Attendees will also be able to view other Global Summit participants around the world and share contact information, schedule 1 on 1 meetings, and set up video chats through the platform. 

Attendees can also connect 1:1 directly through the online event platform. We hope to expand the networking and discussion opportunities in future virtual summits.

 After the Global Summit, an online certificate will be available to registered attendees by accessing your APS member profile. 

Roundtable and poster presenters will be emailed a link to a Certificate of Participation after the Global Summit is over. Presenters must have attended the Global Summit and paid in full to receive a Certificate of Participation. Please check your spam folders if you did not receive this email.
