Family Care Assistance
APS is pleased to offer Family Care Assistance to APS Members to defray the costs of care at home, at the conference, and/or during the preparation time directly involved in participating in the conference. This assistance is available to any APS member who serves as a caregiver in any capacity (e.g. child, parent, spouse, partner, dependent, etc.). Recipients of Family Care Assistance receive either a $200 cash stipend or a discount code for $200 off convention registration. Recipients are chosen through a lottery system.

Eligibility
- Applicants are required to have an active APS membership through June 1, 2025, to apply for Family Care Assistance.
- Applicants cannot have previously won any of the APS financial assistance awards.
- Applicants may apply for this stipend together with any other stipend for which they are qualified. However, an applicant can receive only one of the stipends.
- If you elect to receive the stipend, you must be registered and paid in full to receive the cash stipend.

APS will share Family Care Assistance decisions in mid-February.
Should I register for the Annual Convention before receiving notice of my Family Care Assistance?
If you are applying for Family Care Assistance, please do not register for the Annual Convention until you learn whether you received Family Care Assistance. You will receive notification before the early-bird registration deadline on April 10.
How will I know you received my application?
You will receive a confirmation email upon completion of the form. If you did not receive a confirmation email, please contact [email protected].
Student Travel Assistance
The APS Student Travel Assistance program defrays travel costs for APS student members who submitted their research to the APS Annual Convention. Recipients are provided with complimentary Convention registration, as well as one complimentary night at the Washington Hilton hotel, the 2025 APS Annual Convention venue and host hotel. Travel Assistance recipients are required to volunteer for one six-hour shift onsite at the Convention. Volunteer duties typically include working at poster storage, providing directions to attendees, or completing room counts for various Convention events.
If you are applying for Student Travel Assistance, please do not register for the Annual Convention until you learn whether you will receive Student Travel Assistance. You will receive notification before the early-bird registration deadline on April 10.
