Student Programming at the 2023 APS Annual Convention

APS is pleased to offer special programming for students at the APS Annual Convention. Hosted by the APS Student Caucus, these sessions range from panels on understanding the grant process and setting academic goals to more engaging events like the Student Career Networking Event. APSSC panels and events are designed to be fun and informative, featuring voices from various backgrounds, industries, and disciplines. The APSSC Executive Board develops this programming each year, keeping the content up to date and relevant for students.

Attend this session to learn more about landing and navigating careers outside of academia.
Fri. 5/262:00pm-2:50pmSetting Academic GoalsLeaders from various career stages will discuss topics including time management, seeking support from your peers and advisors, and overcoming experiences of inequity when setting and meeting goals.
Fri. 5/264:30pm-6:00pmStudent Career Networking EventIn this roundtable networking event, students have the opportunity to informally interact with emerging leaders in psychological science. Invited discussants include academics, APS Rising Stars, clinicians, and practitioners from industry. This event will facilitates conversations between young scholars, with the aim of exchanging pertinent information for career development.

In this open forum, students have the opportunity to raise questions and discuss issues that are particularly relevant for young BIPOC scholars.
