Research Training
Research training and support for young investigators has been a core issue of the Association for Psychological Science since its founding nearly fifteen years ago. If the opportunity to train in behavioral science were presented to the best young scientific minds, many of the daunting health concerns facing our nation would be addressed. APS has made this a centerpiece of its agenda, and has included it in testimony before Congress and other bodies.
National Research Council Testimony
The Committee for Monitoring the Changing Needs for Biomedical and Behavioral Research Personnel of the National Research Council has recently begun its quadrennial review of research training at NIH, and invited APS to make recommendations on how to improve this highly important field.
