All psychology graduate students who are Psi Chi members and graduate student affiliates of the Association for Psychological Science are eligible to submit their research for the Psi Chi/APS Albert Bandura Graduate Research Award. The winner receives from Psi Chi up to $1,200 for travel expenses to attend the APS Annual Convention to receive the award and two engraved plaques, one for the winner and one for the winner’s psychology department as a permanent honor to the winner. APS will give the winner a three-year membership to APS, including subscriptions to all APS journals.
This award honors Albert Bandura, a Distinguished Member of Psi Chi who has received two APS lifetime achievement awards: the William James Fellow Award for significant intellectual contributions to the basic science of psychology and the James McKeen Cattell Fellow Award for outstanding contributions to the area of applied psychological research.
Bandura has been an exemplary and dedicated supporter and mentor of students and their research throughout his long professional career. The award is presented during the Psi Chi session of opening ceremony at the APS Annual Convention.
